SPREAD OF MALIGNANT OVARIAN TUMORS

Malignant ovarian tumors spread by local extension, lymphatic, hematogenous, and transcoelomic routes. Ovarian tumors are traditionally staged by laparoscopy utilizing the FIGO staging system (2). From the imaging aspects, the general principles are tabulated below.
