CLINICAL ABNORMALITIES:
Although osteoid osteomas occur most frequently in patients between the ages
of 7 and 25 years, they have been observed in very young children and in
elderly individuals (6). Pain is the hallmark of the lesion; the pain typically
described as being more dramatic at night and relieved with aspirin.
In the analysis of osteoid osteomas; conventional radiography, computed tomography,
scintigraphy, magnetic resonance imaging and angiography may be utilized.
