Course Description
This course is designed specifically as a review of physics and radiobiology for diagnostic radiology residents preparing to take the written American Board of Radiology examination.
All areas outlined in the ABR syllabus and study guide on the physics of diagnostic radiology will be covered. Multiple choice, true-false, and matching type questions, typical of those on the ABR examination will be used to reinforce basic concepts. Each registrant will receive copies of over 350 questions used as the basis for review sessions. There will not be a series of comprehensive lectures. Instead, instruction will concentrate on areas in which participants indicate deficiencies through their discussion of the questions.
In addition to reviewing physics and radiobiology concepts, registrants will learn how to avoid common pitfalls and to efficiently choose the correct answer. This approach requires that registrants prepare for the course by reading basic texts in radiological physics and radiobiology designed for diagnostic radiology residents.
