Darren Postoak, MD
Assistant Professor and Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology
Dr. Postoak is Chief of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Section and Program Director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan and his Vascular and Interventional Radiology/Research Fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Postoak is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology with a certificate of added qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine (Endovascular). He was formerly an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at LSU Medical Center and attended at New Orleans Veterans Administration Hospital. His areas of interest are transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, inferior vena cava filters, carotid stenting, and embolization in traumatic injuries, arteriovenous malformations and uterine fibroid embolization. He attends at both the University Health System Hospital and the Audie Murphy VA Hospital.
Michael H. Wholey, MD
Clinical Associate Professor
Dr. Wholey received his M.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at John Hopkins University and his Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Training at The University of Texas Health Science Center with Dr. Julio Palmaz. Dr. Wholey is Board Certified by the American College of Radiology. He was previously appointed at Louisiana State University Medical Center as an Assistant Professor in Interventional Radiology. His clinical interests are in carotid artery stent placement, angioplasty, inferior vena cava filters, renal stenting, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, and uterine fibroid embolization. Dr. Wholey attends at the University Health System Hospital and the Audie Murphy VA Hospital.
Fadi El-Merhi , MD
Assistant Professor
Dr. El-Merhi is a faculty member in both the Vascular and Interventional Section and Body Imaging Section of the Radiology Department. He is the Director of Body MRI at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and an Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition, he completed a Body MRI Fellowship at the University of Washington in St. Louis, Missouri (Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology). Dr. El-Merhi is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology. His main clinical interests are Interventional Oncology of both benign and malignant tumors, radiofrequency ablation therapy of malignant liver tumors, angioplasty, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, and uterine fibroid embolization. He attends at both the University Health System Hospital and the Audie Murphy VA Hospital.
Rajeev Suri , MD , DNB
Assistant Professor
Dr. Suri received his M.D. degree from The Christian Medical College in India. He has completed residencies in diagnostic radiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in India. He completed a Cardiovascular and Abdominal Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Suri is Board Certified by the American College of Radiology. His clinical interests include: carotid artery stent placement, chemoembolization, infrainguinal arterial interventions, radiofrequency ablations, uterine fibroid embolizations, and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts. He attends at both the University Health System Hospital and at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital.
Marco Cura, MD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Cura received his M.D. degree from The Catholic University of Cordoba, School of Medicine in Argentina. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center. His fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology was completed at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University. He is Board-Certified in Radiology. He attends at the University Hospital and at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital of San Antonio.
