First and second year Students: Demonstrations of radiograph and ultrasound plus interactive case based lectures on topics pertinent to radiology;

Third Year Students: Faculty mentoring and guidance provided to medical students in selection of medical specialty;

Fourth Year Students: Two didactics courses provided to 4th year students (in the spring) who will be interns the following year. Electives available for MS4 are a one month diagnostic radiology elective or a pediatric radiology elective. Elective courses offer rotations through clinical specialty areas, online reading and imaging education.

Additional program opportunities:

The RIG is an official UTHSCSA student group that welcomes all medical students who have an interest in Radiology. Meetings are held monthly and provide educational opportunities for interactive discussions between medical students and radiology residents and faculty. Invited speakers lecture on topics that are relative to the professional growth and education of future radiologists and medical physicians.

Shadowing in the Department (MS 1-4): The Department of Radiology welcomes medical students who would like to shadow within the Department for a few hours during the day.
