Vascular Interventional Radiology-Faculty Position

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio seeks an Assistant Professor, Interventional Radiology. Teach, supervise radiology residents; engage in cardio-vascular research. Provide clinical services at the University Hospital & STVHCS Audie Murphy VA Hospital. Perform vascular & non-vascular interventional procedures including carotid & peripheral arterial & venous interventions, TIPS procedures, pediatric interventions, percutaneous biliary & renal procedures, and embolizations for pelvic, splenic & other traumatic organ injuries. REQUIREMENTS: M.D. in Medicine, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Radiology, CAQ certified/eligible in Interventional Radiology& Texas State Medical License or able to obtain. Musculoskeletal Radiologist

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio seeks a board certified or board eligible radiologist for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor to Professor rank to provide clinical services at University Hospital System & STVHCS Audie L. Murphy Hospital. Candidate must be proficient with a proven track record in musculoskeletal radiology research, and posses an M.D. or equivalent and Texas State Medical Licenses or able to obtain. Applicants should be competent in all aspects of diagnostic musculoskeletal radiology. Duties include teaching medical students and supervising residents; participating in research; and providing clinical care to patients. Supervision of radiology residents in the performance and interpretation of musculoskeletal imaging studies and participation in various teaching/patient management conferences at UHS and VA. Our hospitals are regional referral centers for trauma, oncology, surgery, general medicine and organ transplantation. Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications.

 

 

Fellowship Opportunities

Vascular & Interventional Fellowship

The Department of Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking two (2) candidates to begin July 2009 in an ACGME-approved fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology, which provides clinical services at University Hospital (650 beds) and VA Hospital (450 beds). This section works in close collaboration with the Vascular Surgery section and performs a full range of vascular and nonvascular interventional procedures, including carotid and peripheral arterial stents, thoracic and abdominal aortic stent grafts, TIPS procedures, arterial and venous revascularization techniques, pediatric interventions, percutaneous biliary and renal procedures, and embolizations for pelvic, splenic, and other traumatic organ injuries. The section has 5 faculty Interventional Radiologists. Recent major renovations include 2 additional state of the art angio suites at University Hospital and a biplane suite at VA Hospital. The Julio Palmaz Vascular Research Laboratory is part of the section and fellows are encouraged to participate in several ongoing research projects. The Department of Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking candidates for 6 fellowships in the following sections: 2 Body, MRI, MSK, Cardio-Thoracic and Mammography. These positions will begin July 1, 2010 and be appointed as Instructors. Candidates must be able to secure a Texas State License no later than the start date of 7/1/10. The programs provide in depth training in the respective sections. In 2009-2010, the University of Texas Health Science Center will open its premier Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC) which will house the UT Medicine multispeciality faculty practice group. Rotations are at the University Hospital (650 beds) and VA Hospital (450 beds). The hospitals are regional referral centers for trauma, oncology, surgery, general medicine and organ transplantation. The imaging equipment is state of the art five Multi-detector CT units, three MR units, eight color Doppler Ultrasound units, and two Fluoroscopy rooms.
